Zusatztipps für die Zubereitung

For the best results, ensure you rinse your lentils thoroughly before adding them to the pot to remove any dust or debris. If the soup becomes too thick upon standing or reheating, simply add a splash of extra broth or water to reach your desired consistency.

Varianten und Anpassungen

If you prefer a milder flavor, substitute the spicy Italian sausage with sweet Italian sausage and omit the red pepper flakes. You can also swap the kale for spinach or Swiss chard; just remember that spinach will wilt much faster, so add it at the very end.

Serviervorschläge

This soup is best enjoyed hot, perhaps accompanied by a piece of crusty bread for dipping. For an extra touch of richness, top each bowl with a light sprinkle of freshly grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
